Removing an Application Group Member

Follow this procedure to prevent license violations when a member of an AMC application group is removed from the network. These violations occur because the Designated License Manager (DLM) is unable to find the missing member. To avoid the violations, you need to stop the DLM from looking for the member, either permanently or until the member is returned to the network.

This procedure is especially useful when building systems off-site—for example, in a dealer lab—for later transport to the customer's site. It allows you to provision the Application Group and bring the members online in a staged manner to accommodate issues with the network or the customer's building.

To remove an Application Group member:

  1. On AMC, clear the Hardware ID for the Application Record ID (ARID) of the element that will be offline.

  2. On the DLM, sync the Group Application Record ID (GARID) from the Application Group Licensing form.

This will prevent the DLM from looking for this member.
